Manage infrastructure

Most utilities need to maintain their infrastructure: meters, meter points, and supply addresses. With SkyBill, you can manage this infrastructure and define the relationships between its elements.

For each supply address, there can be multiple meter points. Under each meter point, there can be numerous meters.

In this section, you will find the instructions on how to create the infrastructure elements manually. However, in most cases, utilities import this data from their existing systems during SkyBill implementation. SkyBill contains the data upload tools to speed up this process. Later, using the same tools, you can import new elements or update existing ones.

The data upload tools allow you to import data, and also the relations between different infrastructure elements. For example, SkyBill requires that the move-in process link a supply address to a customer. However, if you import the data, you can set up this relation directly in the import file. This way, you can avoid the need to run the Move-in process for each supply address.

In your daily operations, you will rarely need to create new infrastructure elements manually. In most cases, you will upload them in bulk.

To Go to
Manage supply addresses that define where utilities are delivered. Create and update address records, link them to tenants and landlords, and keep occupancy information accurate for billing and reporting. Supply Addresses
Manage meter points that represent the physical connections where utilities are supplied. Configure their relationships with supply addresses and meters, review history, and maintain data accuracy across your utility network. Meter Points
Manage utility meters and their lifecycle, from installation and replacement to reading validation. Keep consumption records accurate and ensure reliable billing based on verified meter data. Meters
