Supply addresses

A supply address identifies the physical location where a utility service is delivered. It represents the property, apartment, or unit that receives electricity, water, gas, and so on. Each supply address can include one or more meter points, depending on the number of utilities supplied to that location.

Supply addresses are also used to link customers to their premises through move-in and move-out processes. This ensures that billing, contracts, and consumption data always correspond to the correct location and tenant.

To create a new supply address

  1. Select Search (Alt+Q) Lightbulb that opens the Tell Me feature. in the upper-right corner, enter Supply Addresses, and then choose the related link.
  2. Select New to create a new supply address.
  3. Enter the relevant information on the Supply Address Card page. Pay special attention to the following fields:
Field Description
No. Enter a unique identifier for the supply address.
Description Enter a description for the supply address. This field is not mandatory. Some companies display the Description field in reports, the portal, or documents. That's why the best practice is for your company to use this field for a specific, agreed-upon purpose. This way, the description must align with the broader policy. In many cases, companies enter the address in this field.
Space Enter the space (for example, in square meters) of the property at this supply address. This field is required if you use any of the bulk allocation features, and you specify the Sub Meter Sq. Meters as the allocation key in the tariff component. To learn more, go to How to set up Bulk Consumption Allocation.
Building Code Enter a No. of another supply address to link several supply addresses in one building. After entering the building code, SkyBill displays the Unit in the Building/Unit field on the Supply Address Card page. At the same time, the Building/Unit field of the other supply addresses will be updated accordingly, and will display Building. This relation between a building and its units is helpful for landlords. The contract with the landlord can include all the supply addresses for a single building. So by combining the supply addresses, you don't need to add all of them manually to the contract; you can refer to the building.
Supplies FastTab Turn the toggle on to indicate that the specific service, like cold water or gas, is provided to this supply address. These toggles do not impact billing or reporting directly, but they can be useful for internal tracking.

To review and manage existing supply addresses, pay special attention to the following fields on the Supply Address Card page:

Field Description
Tenant Customer No. A person or entity that is currently linked to this supply address as a tenant. SkyBill automatically fills in this field when you move in a customer to the supply address. By selecting the tenant, you can open the customer card to view the transaction or other details specific to that tenant. For more information about the Customer Card page, go to Register new customers.
Vacant The toggle is automatically turned on when no tenant is linked to this supply address. When you move in a tenant, this toggle is turned off. If there are only landlords and no tenants, the toggle remains on.

To move in a tenant
