Resources
Resources represent the different types of utilities you provide, such as electricity, water, or heat. You need to create resources before you start setting up tariffs. The company focused on electricity supply needs only one resource, while a multi-utility company needs to set up several resources.
To create a resource
- Select Search (Alt+Q)
in the upper-right corner, enter Resources, and then choose the related link. - Select New, and then on the Resource Card page, on the General FastTab, configure the fields as described in the following table.

| No. | Enter a unique identifier for the resource. |
| Name | Provide a clear name that describes the resource (for example, Electricity, Water, or Heat). |
| Type | Choose Machine. |
| Base Unit of Measure | Choose the unit of measure that applies to the resource. |
- On the Invoicing FastTab, set the Gen. Bus. Posting Group and VAT Bus. Posting Group fields to define how transactions for this resource are posted to the general ledger. To learn more about posting groups, go to Set up general posting groups.
