Draft documentation
This content is a draft version of the SkyBill documentation and is subject to final review. Some information may be incomplete or inaccurate. Features, terminology, and procedures may change before the official release.

This guide explains the SkyBill licensing model, including user fees, meter point pricing, and deductions for existing Business Central licenses.

Monthly Essentials User Fee (3–50 Users)

This fee is charged per named user per month and includes:

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Essentials license.
  • SkyBill Essentials user license.
  • Hosting (SkyBill Cloud, Microsoft Online, or Azure).

This is the final end-customer price, including Business Central.

Used for users requiring full access: billing, accounting, tariff configuration, support, and so on.

Minimum 3 users.

Monthly Essentials User Fee (50+ Users)

Same functionality as the 3–50 tier, but with a volume discount for customers with 50 or more named users.

Monthly Team Member User Fee

This fee is charged per named user per month and includes:

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Team Member license.
  • SkyBill Team Member permissions.

Team Members have limited access:

  • No configuration.
  • No tariff editing.
  • No document posting.
  • Suitable for customer service, basic tasks, workflows, and limited operations.

Meter Point Fee (Per Month)

A Meter Point represents a contracted service point (Service Point). Each service under an active contract counts as a Meter Point.

Example: A customer contract with electricity + water = 2 Meter Points.

Meter Points are counted only from active contracts.

Pricing tiers:

Meter Points Price per MP/month
Up to 50,000 €0.05
50,000–100,000 €0.04
100,000+ €0.03

Deduction Rule for Existing Business Central Users

If the customer already owns Business Central licenses (Essentials or Team Member), SkyBill deducts the corresponding BC license price from the SkyBill user fee.

Example:

If BC Essentials = €68 and SkyBill Essentials price = €220:

Final price = €220 - €68 = €152

The same applies to Team Member licenses.

This ensures customers do not pay twice for BC licenses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the user fee charged per end-customer or per internal SkyBill user?

The fee applies ONLY to your organization's internal SkyBill/Business Central users (employees, agents, operators). End customers and external portal users are NOT counted.

If we already have Business Central licenses, do we need to count all Business Central users?

No. You only count the Business Central users who require access to SkyBill functionality. Users who use BC for accounting or other ERP tasks but do not enter SkyBill modules are NOT counted.

Do external customer portal users count as SkyBill users?

No. External users (end-customers, landlords, tenants) are licensed separately via portal licensing and do NOT count as SkyBill internal users.

Are Business Central users automatically counted as SkyBill users?

Only if they access SkyBill functionality. Pure-ERP users (Finance-only, Warehouse-only, or CRM-only) are not included unless they use SkyBill modules.
