Update 2.17 for SkyBill

Important

Draft documentation
This content is a draft version of the SkyBill documentation and is subject to final review. Some information may be incomplete or inaccurate. Features, terminology, and procedures may change before the official release.

This article describes the new features, enhancements, and fixes included in SkyBill V2.17.0.0 (Fixed) available since November 29, 2025.

New features

Payment type linked to the Payment Method

A Payment Type column that is used in the Utility Contract Card page has been added to the Payment Methods setup table.

If a Payment Type value is specified for a corresponding Payment Method Code, the Payment Type in the Utility Contract will automatically update according to the setup whenever the Payment Method Code is changed.

The default Payment Type value in the Payment Method page is empty.

Reminders per Utility Contract

A new toggle Reminder per Contract has been added to the Create Reminders task.

  • When you turn the toggle on, the system creates separate reminders for each Utility Contract, based on the related Posted Sales Invoices.
  • When you turn the toggle off, the system generates a single reminder per customer, regardless of the number of contracts. In this case, the Utility Contract field in the reminder will remain empty.

Additionally, new informational messages have been introduced. These appear when the Create Reminders task is executed for a customer who already has unissued reminders in the Reminder list.

Feature changes

Transfer Ownership Unit

You can now transfer an ownership unit from one contract to another using the new Transfer Ownership Unit function. This option is available only for supply addresses with the type Unit.

Improved Label Clarity in Supply Address list and card

To make navigation clearer and more intuitive, we've updated some labels on the Supply Address Card:

  • The Tenancy tab is now labeled Supply Address.
  • The Move In/Out tab is now labeled Tenancy.
Note

Transfer Ownership Unit and Improved Label Clarity ensure a more consistent and intuitive experience when managing supply addresses and contracts.

Cancel Meter Change: Enhanced Validation and Messaging

The Cancel Meter Change process has been enhanced to provide clearer system responses and better control during contract updates.

  • When the meter has been removed (no new Meter No. in the Meter Change Log), the system now prevents cancellation and displays the message: The record cannot be cancelled because the meter has been removed.
  • When the meter has been changed and is already included in billing for the current contract, cancellation is blocked with the message: The record cannot be cancelled because Detailed Utility Ledger Entries exist.
  • When the meter change has not been used in billing, the cancellation can proceed, and the Meter No. in the Utility Contract Lines is automatically restored to its previous value.

Hotfixes

  • Landlord Contract Card Creation: Creating a Landlord Contract Card now works correctly even when the Landlord Utility Contract Template does not have an assigned No. Series.

  • Billing Cycle End Date in Contract Line: Refined the behavior of the Billing Cycle End Date in Contract Lines for Landlord Contracts. When the Billing Cycle is set to 1M, the end date now correctly uses the 31st in longer months in all cases.

  • Insert Meter Readings for Meter with the Register: Improved the handling of meter readings. When a meter includes a register, the system now prevents adding a second reading with the same DateTime value.

  • Calculation of Days During Meter Replacement: The calculation of the number of days when a meter replacement occurs has been reviewed and corrected for more accurate results.

  • Move-In Process: Email and Dimensions: The Move-In Process has been updated to ensure that the email address and dimensions are properly transferred to the Utility Contract Card.
